PROENZA SCHOULER

ROLE: DESIGN INTERN

I joined Proenza Schouler in New York as part of my fashion design studies and continued beyond my initial internship. During my time at the brand, I supported collection and runway development, preparations for Paris Fashion Week and the launch of its contemporary line, Proenza Schouler White Label.

A/W 2018 COLLECTION

Presented during Paris Fashion Week, the A/W 2018 collection explored the spirit and heritage of American craft. Drawing inspiration from textile artist Sheila Hicks and the free-spirited attitude of 1970s California, it brought together macramé, crochet, woven leather, fringe and artisanal tie-dye.

For this collection, I assisted Jack McCollough, Lazaro Hernandez and the design team with fabric and trim sourcing, fittings, sample coordination and technical packs, as well as accessories and print development. I prepared fabric swatches, colour references and materials, ensuring the designers had what they needed throughout the development process. My role also included styling and photoshoot preparations, alongside preparations for the Paris runway show. Across my time at Proenza Schouler, I also assisted with styling and shoot preparations alongside Vogue stylists Julia Sarr-Jamois and Camilla Nickerson.

WHITE LABEL, 2017

During my time at Proenza Schouler, I supported the development and launch of the first Proenza Schouler White Label (PSWL) collection. Created as a more accessible extension of the main line and at a lower price point while retaining the brand’s distinctive design identity.

I supported day-to-day design coordination and collection development. My responsibilities included developing colourway options for T-shirt prints, assisting with accessories development, sourcing fabrics and trims, preparing colour and material references, coordinating samples and supporting fittings. I also assisted with styling and photoshoot preparations, helping organise the garments, accessories and materials needed throughout the development and launch process.
