SAY OCTOBER
ROLE: FOUNDER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Say October began while I was developing my graduate collection and experimenting with hand-dyeing textiles at home. I continued exploring the process after graduating, creating garments from silk satin and silk organza and sharing them on Instagram. The growing interest and requests to purchase the pieces inspired me to launch a webshop. Initially, I hand-dyed every textile and made each garment to order. As demand increased, I moved production to China for the following collections.

Say October was first and foremost a personal creative universe rather than a commercially driven project. What began as an experiment in my apartment developed into a successful online brand, worn by Danish and international influencers and featured by Vogue both online and in print as
“one to watch.”

Building Say October gave me valuable experience in creative direction, collection development, branding, production and e-commerce.

COLLECTION 1 : Bloom, my first collection for Say October, captures the magic of an imaginary garden and the innocence of childhood.
Crafted entirely from hand-dyed 100% silk, each piece has a unique expression. Soft pastels, fluid silhouettes and delicate details evoke petals and butterflies, blending femininity and fantasy with a sense of freedom and wonder.
COLLECTION 2, MILLENNIUM : This collection is inspired by the Y2K era. As a child of the 1990s, it was the first time I remember becoming aware of fashion and using it as a source of inspiration. The collection reinterprets the era through bold tie-dye prints, metallic surfaces, rhinestone details and body-conscious silhouettes. Nostalgic references are combined with a modern, polished expression to create a collection that feels both playful and confident.

COLLECTION 3, LOUISIANA: This collection is inspired by Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, Denmark. A place that has held a special place in my heart since childhood. I often visited the museum with my grandmother, who shared my love of art. The collection reflects the contrast between Louisiana’s clean modernist architecture and the wild, natural landscape surrounding it.
